About Rachel Linquist

Picture
My passion is making beautiful things. From cloth dolls that look like someone you love to watercolor paintings of little bits of nature. Some of my favorite custom doll orders have been a doll with removable hair for a little girl undergoing brain surgery, and a doll to look like a sweet little girl's recently departed Grandfather. And one of my favorite watercolors is of some shells I collected with my family on a trip. Nothing brings me more joy than to bring comfort and joy to others with my creations.

I have always loved creating. From playing flute as a Music Education major, to sewing my bridesmaids’ dresses for my wedding, life feels richer in the midst of making something beautiful. I find my inspiration in traditional domestic arts, vintage fabrics, literature, films, and nature. Sewing dolls and creatures gives life to different aspects of myself, of people I know, and to the little stories weaving through my mind.

My art dolls have been featured in the Trey McIntyre Project’s Art Show 2010 and 2011, We Art Women 2011, the Art Source Gallery’s Juried Art Show 2011 and 2012 (in which I won 3rd place Juror's Choice), and Plush You! Art Show in Seattle 2012, 2013, and 2014.
